Run a Dance Studio Formations and Update 1

On 4 September 2026 Dance Interactive posted the clip owners had been asking for since the 24 August routine carousel: you can now create multiple formations within the same dance. The same window shipped HOW TO: build your second story! and a BIG update caption listing the rest of Update 1: two-story studios, formation changes, 9 new dance moves, 5 mystery costume pieces, Fuse duplicate dancers, Batch delete common dancers, and exclusive gold furniture for high rollers. Multiple formations

Official caption: switch it up, get creative, make every routine your own — and hopefully you have this worked out before the Roblox Awards and Diamond Dance Extravaganza. That sentence is the patch note. Formation changes are not a toy. They are expected before the next judged show.

Update 1 art shows a standing line changing into a floor picture, with ghost silhouettes and arrows. If your saved Awards piece is a single clump, re-open create a routine and add at least one change. Owners asked “will there be formation changes?” in August. The answer is now yes.

What to re-record

• Anything you plan to take to Roblox Awards this week
• Group pieces first (the art is a five-person picture)
• Solos if you can sell a travel or a floor hit as a “second formation”

You may not need to rebuild the track. You need a second picture. If song-swap-without-re-record still does not exist, keep the music and change the bodies.

Second-story studios

The other half of Update 1 is architecture. Official how-to: build your second story. Key art: two-floor white studio, dancers running in, “2-STORY STUDIOS” badge. A second story you cannot enrol into is a billboard. Awards cameras will still see an empty upstairs.

Diamond Dance Extravaganza

The formations post name-drops Diamond Dance Extravaganza next to Awards as a reason to finish choreography. There is no separate clock on that post. When Instagram gives it times, they will land on the schedule tool. Until then, treat it as a second show to keep a spare routine warm — styles.

Why this patch changes the tier lists

Group cores that can hit two pictures jumped in value. Static costume showcases dropped. Teachers still matter because a second formation with untrained bodies is just two bad pictures. Update the queue on dancers and keep staff hired.

Moves, costumes, Fuse, gold furniture

The formations clip is the headline. The same day the studio also shipped roster and inventory tools: Fuse duplicates instead of deleting rares, batch-delete commons, nine new moves on the phrase list, and five mystery costume pieces in packs. Gold furniture is a Cash flex for the lobby camera, not a judged score. Roster work belongs on train dancers. Building work belongs on build your studio. Optional Robux accelerators belong on the Gamepasses tool.

Cannons and joke requests

A comment on the formations clip asked for cannons. Fun. Not a shipped feature. This wiki will not list cannons until the studio does.

After you patch

1. Re-save the group with a change.
2. Confirm Awards qualification still holds.
3. Decide whether the second story is this week’s Cash goal.
4. Watch @runadancestudio for the Extravaganza clock.

Update 1 is the first time the live game visibly outran the launch carousel. Choreograph for the new tool or look dated on Saturday.

If Cash is too low for a second story this week, skip the stairs and still ship the formation change. Choreography is the cheaper half of Update 1 and the half judges actually score. Architecture can wait until enrolment prints. Do not stall Awards because the thumbnail showed a two-floor mall you cannot afford yet. Re-save the group, qualify, then put the 500k-class sink on the calendar after Champion weekend — earn cash and gems first, drywall second.
