How to Train Dancers

Training is the unglamorous third step on Dance Interactive’s own loop, sitting between enrolment and competitions. Skip it and your routines look busy while scores stay flat. This page is how teachers, stats, and duplicate dancers fit together in Run a Dance Studio.

What “train with teachers” means

The official how-to says: enrol dancers to earn Cash, then train them with teachers to improve their stats, then enter competitions. Teachers are not lobby decoration. They are the stat machine. Packs can also drop teachers, which is why Gems are allowed to buy staff instead of only costumes.

If you cannot find more teachers, that is a capacity-plus-pack problem, not a hidden NPC in a bush. Launch comments asked “how do you get more dance teachers and students?” Students (dancers) come from enrolment and dancer packs. Teachers come from progression and teacher packs. Expand the studio so there is space to put them to work — build your studio.

Who to train first

You need a soloist and a group core, because Awards qualification wants both Nationals types. Train:

  1. Your current best individual (solo).
  2. The four-to-five bodies you actually put in a group picture.
  3. Everyone else only after Cash is stable.

Do not sprinkle one lesson on twenty people. Judges see the piece you submit, not your average roster love. The dancer tier list is the qualitative ranking; this page is the queue.

Featured real-life dancers on the roster are fun to spot. They still need stats. A celebrity skin with no training is a poster, not a Champion.

Stats before cosmetics

Costumes drop from Gem packs and make screenshots. Stats make ELO. If Cash is tight, keep teachers running and delay the next costume pack. If Gems are tight, stop opening dancer packs until the people you already own are trained. Earn cash and gems is the wallet; this page is the spending discipline for training time.

Duplicates, Fuse, and batch delete

A 3 September comment asked how to merge duplicate dancers to increase points. On 4 September 2026 Dance Interactive answered in the Update 1 post: Fuse duplicate dancers and Batch delete common dancers are live. Fuse is the merge path — keep extras until you hit that button, then combine them instead of selling into a vendor that may not exist. Batch delete is for commons you will never fuse. Do not wipe a rare duplicate because the roster looks messy. Fuse first, delete commons second.

Teachers as a pack target

When a pack can roll teachers, that roll is often more valuable than a random costume. A teacher multiplies every future dancer. A costume multiplies one screenshot. Rank teachers on the teacher list. If the Gamepass ecosystem later adds staff slots, we will note it in updates.

Training and competitions

Do not enter Awards with a raw roster just because the clock is on Instagram. The official Awards post literally says train your dancers, perfect your routines, get costumes ready, and warns that sign-ups go fast. Training is on that packing list. Regular Nationals are your sparring. Awards are the exam. See competitions and the schedule.

Reset questions

Owners asked how to reset a studio. That is dangerous if it wipes trained stats. Do not reset because a name filtered, and do not reset because you pulled a duplicate. Fix the name, merge if possible, keep the XP. If a reset tool exists in settings, read the confirm text twice.

Practical weekly plan

  • Monday–Thursday: enrolment Cash, teacher hours on the soloist and group core, one routine revision (especially formations).
  • Friday: confirm both Nationals marks exist.
  • Saturday/Sunday: Awards window if qualified.
  • After Awards: spend Gems on the hole the judges just showed you, not on a random pack binge.

Training is how a new sim stops feeling like a dress-up lobby. Put teachers on the people you will actually send to Roblox Awards, then choreograph the stats you paid for.
